The Rawlings® S100 batting helmet is built for protection. This new helmet offers increased protection at ball speeds up to 100 mph. This is achieved by using a composite insert that provides additional durability in critical ball impact locations. The S100 also uses a multiple impact expanded polypropylene (EPP) liner for added protection. These two interior layers further reinforce the outer helmet shell and interior padding creating four independent layers of protection that make up the Advanced Impact Management System or AIMS™. The S100 uses a combination of Outlast® and Pro-Dri® material for superior comfort. Pro-Dri® is a moisture management material that also fights bacteria. Outlast® Thermocules™ continually absorb, store and release excess body heat to balance temperature and humidity buildup. Protection doesn't mean you have to sacrifice comfort.
For helmet size, measure the circumference of the head just above the ears and refer to the chart for accurate sizing.

"I was tired of re-gluing helmet pads back into less expensive helmets and decided to purchase a more expensive one. The fit of this helmet was great, and the leather-covered pads are very comfortable and should be much more durable. In addition, the helmet looks great and laser engraving is available to customize your helmet with your player number, etc. I haven't taken a fastball in the head yet, but the padding used in this helmet seems far superior to the helmets in the $20 range. Plus, the superior fit should also contribute to the safety factor. I shouldn't have to purchase a replacement helmet for many years. I play in the MABL/MSBL, and even though I'm over 50, most of the players in my local area are in the 20-35 age range. Some of the pitchers throw in the 80 mph range, and I feel well protected with this helmet."
